1. What this policy covers
Cookies are small values stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, SDKs, and device or browser identifiers. This policy covers technologies used on FormatHive and optional technologies loaded by configured providers.
Some browser storage is strictly necessary or requested by you; other technologies are optional. Applicable rules can vary by region.
2. Essential and requested storage
Essential and requested storage is used for security, privacy choices, language, theme, editor preferences, recent tools, and drafts. Disabling it through browser settings may cause features to stop working.
- fh_privacy_consent: an HTTP-only first-party cookie recording your analytics, advertising, and sale or sharing choices for up to 180 days.
- fh_locale: a first-party language preference cookie lasting up to one year.
- Theme and interface preferences: browser storage retained until changed or cleared by you.
- Workspace drafts: per-tool local storage with an application expiry of 30 days.
- Recent tools and editor color palette: local browser preferences retained until replaced or cleared.
- Temporary session markers: session storage used for one browser tab or session, including analytics sampling decisions when analytics is permitted.
3. Analytics technologies
With your permission, first-party aggregate analytics may measure page visits, tool usage outcomes, and performance without including editor input or output. If configured, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Plausible may set or read additional technologies under the provider’s policy.
Analytics permission is optional. Rejecting it does not prevent use of the formatter tools.
4. Advertising technologies
FormatHive may show first-party house or direct-sponsor ads without cross-site tracking. If Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, or another advertising provider is enabled, that provider may use cookies, local storage, pixels, IP address, device information, and ad interaction data to deliver, limit, secure, measure, or personalize ads.
Third-party advertising stays blocked under FormatHive’s blocked-until-consent mode until advertising permission is granted. Non-personalized or restricted-data-processing settings are used when configured or required by an opt-out. Provider-managed mode must use the provider’s compliant consent mechanism.
For personalized ads in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the operator must configure a Google-certified consent management platform that supports the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework before enabling those ads.
5. Your controls
Use Cookie preferences in the footer to accept, reject, or change optional categories. Rejecting optional technologies is presented as directly as accepting them. Withdrawal applies to future processing and does not affect prior lawful processing.
FormatHive recognizes Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising where applicable. While GPC is active, advertising storage remains disabled and restricted-data-processing signals are applied to supported providers.
You can also delete cookies and site data through browser settings. Browser deletion may reset your language, theme, drafts, recent tools, and saved choice.
6. Provider lists and duration
Third-party cookie names and durations can change without a FormatHive release. The current provider is identified by the ad or analytics configuration and browser network tools. Review the provider’s current documentation for its complete cookie inventory and retention.
We periodically review configured providers and aim to remove technologies that are no longer needed. The operator must maintain a current provider and data-transfer inventory before enabling production integrations.
7. Updates and questions
We may update this policy when storage, providers, consent requirements, or law changes. A material change may require a new privacy choice.
Contact the privacy email in the contact panel with cookie or tracking questions.
